As a starting mountainbiker, I quickly came to the conclusion that once the mountainbike/bicycle bug has caught you, a whole new world will open up for you. It soon became clear that it is not just about “jump on that bike and pedal as hard as you can”, no, it is about much more and ultimately mainly about the total experience you experience.

The freedom and independence, the connection with nature, exercise and health, discovery and adventure, the social and thrill of discovering new and hidden roads, scenic roads and beautiful sights are all sources that fuel the experience and make cycling becomes a total package!

The interest in parts and accessories also started to arise quite quickly and then the question naturally arose, which parts and accessories can increase my pleasure or experience even more. 

My very first search became one that resulted in me regularly being asked where I got that handy bag of “STICKY-POD”! An accessory to safely store all your spare equipment instead of storing everything loose in your back pocket. 

Then I realized that there was a greater need for small, simple things that took the “total experience” one step higher. 

Getting a small and simple website online was and is quite a task without any prior knowledge! Hours and days of trying until version 1 was online! 

My curiosity continued to fuel me, resulting in new products and a new name/website BIKE (bicycle) DOTCOM (online). I actually got a feeling of déjà vu, although this time things went a bit smoother :-) with the posting of a new website :-)

I made it a point to personally deliver almost every order and, if possible, we did so by bicycle, of course. It takes you to places you would otherwise never drive by and we often received bewildered looks from our customers :-). There were sometimes rides of close to or over 200k, and you would be offered a coke or sausage sandwich here and there :-). It is of course impossible to deliver everywhere by bicycle, but if it is possible and the customer chooses free delivery and is patient, we will do our best to get on the bike again.

I feel very fortunate that everyone's way of working is positive is assessed, things obviously don't always run smoothly, but hey, ... Rome wasn't built in one day! One item that I keep a very close eye on is: that's a hobby that has gone bad should continue to feel that way! That's how it should always feel, do something that gives you energy in your life and it makes it all so much more interesting.

Finally, I would also like to thank my other half for the support and help in all kinds of areas, because the road to Rome is full of challenging climbs and pitfalls where some support certainly helps.
