Amstel Gold Race 2024: Limburg Cycling Classic full of History
The annual Dutch cycling classic, the Amstel Gold Race, enchants with its epic course through the Limburg hills. Both men and women compete in this spectacle, starting on the Vrijthof in Maastricht and ending on the Rijksweg in Vilt. With its rich history and challenging routes, the Amstel Gold Race is one of the spring highlights.

Since 1966, originally conceived by cycling team leaders Ton Vissers and Herman Krott, the race has been given several nicknames, including “Amstel Gold Raas” and “Monsieur Cauberg.” The UCI World Tour has been part of the race since 2011, and in 2023 Flanders Classics took over the organization.
Amstel Gold Race course 2024
The tough course of 254 km for men and 156 km for women includes 33 climbs, with notable names such as Kruisberg, Cauberg and Bemelerberg. For 2024, the Amstel Gold Race promises a tough finale for riders, with the Cauberg no longer in the last loop for men.
