Explore the Cycling Village with Unique Routes and Gravel Tour (70km) during the Veldtoertocht Surhuisterveen.

Unique Tours through Fryske Wâlden and Groningen Westerkwartier

On Saturday, March 2, the picturesque Surhuisterveen invites Mountain Bike and Gravel Bike enthusiasts for an adventurous cross-country tour. Explore the area with unpaved country roads, shell paths and forests that have never been explored before. Thanks to collaboration with landowners, a one-off route is created along Surhuisterveen, Kornhorn, Boelenslaan, Houtigehage, Opende, Surhuizum and Harkema, with special passages and a unique break area.

Various Distances and Gravelooption

Mountain bikers can choose from distances of 35 and 50 kilometers. This year there is also a 70 kilometer long gravel route for gravel and gravel enthusiasts. The start and finish are at Sportpark Blau Knopke between 8:30 am and 10:00 am.

Pre-registration costs €7.00 (€6.00 for NFTU members). On the day itself, the start and finish are at Sportpark Blau Knopke.

Gravel Route Details

The 70 kilometer long gravel route is not arrowed, but a GPX file is available two days before the trip. Gravel riders avoid unpaved paths through meadows and specific MTB tracks.

After the Tour: Enjoy and Relax

After the effort, there is a reward for all participants, including a delicious smoked sausage sandwich.
